A Spanish mate has had a beautiful plinth made for his Denon and has bought an Audiorigami PU7 for it. Guess what, it has now started playing up re. speed stability and it would seem the main board is Kaput. He has sourced some i/cs from Singapore but no way Jose. The deck gets up to speed for a short time but doesn´t lock and just starts accelerating til he switches it off.
Short of buying a donor deck (500 dollars in Japan but freight costs ??????) I was thinking if there might be an alternative, more simple way of controlling the motor speed and stability instead of the rather complicated Denon way of a head which reads strobe messages from the underwside of the platter rim or whatever.
Can any of these alternative indie Technics PSUs be pressganged into working with other DD decks ?
