Convert phono input to normal line input

My old, but greatly loved, Nad 302 has a phono stage, but it's completely wasted as I no longer have a phonograph (well, I do, but plays through a standard line input - rarely used, though).

Anyway, how easy is it to convert a phono stage to a standard input.

As I understand it, records are pressed with RIAA (?) equalization applied, and all a phono stage does is remove this equalization so that the recording sounds sweet again.

So, I'm guessing that I could build my own RIAA eq. circuit that would be applied to my source, leaving the Nad to remove the eq. OR I could somehow meddle with the circuitry in the amp so that the eq is by-passed.

I'm not proficient with a soldering iron - I can use one, but the quality of my soldering leaves a lot to be desired - so if anyone knows of a quick but quality solution, let me know!

I think I'd be considering using some sort of input expander before I did what you're suggesting.
These can be bought or you could knock one up yourself easily enough with a little box, a pile of phono sockets and a good quality switch. That might give you a chance to improve your soldering proficiency.

I would build or buy an input expander! All you need is a switch, decent case and phono sockets. And of course some SCREENED wire.
