Radio Paradise at 192 Ogg Vorbis

I was excited when I noticed that RP was broadcasting at a higher bitrate. Sounds good at 128aac so 192 ogg vorbis should be excellent.
Added this to my Squeezebox favourites:
http://stream-tx1.radioparadise.com:9000/rp_192.ogg but its not working for me. What am I doing wrong? :(

You might be able to find an appropriate link by using URLSniffer while playing the stream.
The issue is the player that automatically opens when you click on the link.

Do you think it might be the settings under format/file types? I have enabled Ogg Vorbis without success. I might have turned something off when setting up the Soundcheck modifications.

The link you've posted throws up an embedded player, and I think this might be part of the problem.

As for the Soundcheck stuff - couldn't tell you.
I made the decision not to try any software mods until I had access to a second player so that I could do instant A/B comparisons.
There is a possibility that the Soundcheck mods have broken the usability of the Squeezebox Touch.

I just tried it too, and it works fine.
Looks like there's summat broken in the coding with the Soundcheck stuff :eyebrows:

After a bit of fiddling with the settings I am now able to play it but the track title and cover art is not displayed!

The same thing here, no track info on my SB display whem using OGG 192. Mp3 192 works fine.

Anyway, the most important thing is that the music streams. Rp rocks!

Hmm the old 192 ogg stream does not Work for me right now (http://stream-tx1.radioparadise.com:9000/rp_192.ogg)

I went to their forum to see if the where any information about downtime.... well never found out, but some months back new streams were added; still no artwork but there are now track information.

Not quite sure whether there's much point in Ogg at 192 for Radio Paradise considering that most of the music is submitted by its listeners in MP3 format, so you've got 2 lots of different compression algorithms on the go, but in saying that I guess the higher bitrate will minimise the amount of artefacts you'll get. Plus it's still one of the best stations out there in terms of its content and sound quality.

The listeners submit the music? I didn't realise that. They have good taste then, lot's of excellent stuff submitted.
I notice slightly less sibilance at 192 O.V as opposed to 128 AAC.

If you search Shoutcast by bitrate you will see that RP is now available at 320kps AAC.
Not sure if this is a mistake at there is nothing about it on RP's site.

There's Ogg FLAC ~1Mb which I've never been able to get on my Squeezebox, if you suss it out, can you let me know how to do it, please.

Many thanks everyone, just pasted OGG 192 into Logitech Media Server and it works - didn't know I could do that. This will be useful for other radio stations now that Squeezebox is no more, though Logitech say they will continue to support Media Server.
