*Doffs hat*

Hi, newbie here although I used to post alot on other fora eventually became tired of the "usual suspects." I hadnt even heard of AOS until a google search led me here, looks like a nice place with lots of friendly members.

I'm a self confessed box swapper although now I mainly dabble with vintage gear (70's/80s) Current system/s consists of:

Technics SL1700 w/ Ortofon FF15Emk2
Marantz CD63mk2KI / Sony CDP-970 / ARCAM DV27A
Yamaha CA-810 / Pioneer SA-7800 / Technics SU-V8 / Mini-T / HK Citation
IMF TLS50 / B&W DM2 / Royd Minstrel / Mordaunt-Short MS30i

Now, lets get a few things out the way - Digital is better than analogue, transistors are better than valves....Oh and cables sometimes make a difference ;)

The past few years I've been getting into the repair/restoration side of the hobby which tends to go hand in hand with vintage electronics  so you will likely find me in the diy/vintage sections! Looking forward to contributing & hopefully learning aswell.

James.

No probs  hehe

Used to be a metalhead but kind of outgrew that, as you do! Now anythings fair game from Porcupine Tree to Mahler with some Karan Casey/Seth Lakeman inbetween...The only thing I cant stomach is rap but each to their own!

Welcome, one newbie to another.

It is very friendly here. Very friendly indeed.

Digital is, without a shadow of a doubt, different from analogue. And that's all I have to say on the matter :eyebrows:

Absolutely spot on, it's whatever works for you and the main thing is the music isn't it?

Welcome aboard from a fellow Mahlerian/Porky Tree ;)
