Last but not least the plinth. This was specially made to me by Russ Collinson. It is made of high quality Finnish Birch plywood and is really solidly built. It weighs 19kg, so if you Garrard is working as it should, this plinth will be quiet for sure.

Unfortunately there is some hairline crackling starting to appear on the high gloss piano finish Russ applied. It hasn't bothered me, but I will sell this as an project, so you would need to sand the varnish down and apply new coats to bring it back how it was. If you do this you can easily change the color to suit your taste, or should I say the wife's taste, at the same time :). Another thing to mention is that you will need new tonearm plate, if not using Jelco SA-750LB. I am sure Russ is happy do one for you if this is required.

To see how it looked when Russ made it to me, go to see Russ Collinson home page:

http://www.layers-of-beauty.co.uk/page7.php

Click plinths and my is the one in the left bottom corner (plinth012)

I have taken the pictures with Jelco tonearm in-situ, but tonearm is not included on the sale, it is sold separately.

Yours for £250 plus postage.

I sold my 12" Jelco tonearm this week, so time to reduce the price to £200 plus shipping.

Why haven't you bought it Alex?

I've seen the Lenco and Thorens plinths Russ makes - lovely :)

Quite agree - I've seen a couple in the flesh too, including Gromit's 401 at Scalford last year, and Russ's workmanship is indeed a really high standard.

Why haven't you bought it Alex?

Because I just musn't, at the moment... (especially after a two grand service on the car.) :( Believe you me I would have liked to though, if I had the spare dosh at the moment.

Alex if you are interested in on this plinth, you have only few weeks to hit the BIN button :eyebrows:. I am in the process of packing all our earthly belongings as we speak and will move back to the land of thousands of lakes. Just booked the ferry from Iom to Heysham today :D.

Thanks Juha... The problem is, then I'll want a 12" Jelco Arm.. hmmm.. (Good luck with the move back to Finland.)

No no Alex :trust:you want Terminator T3Pro from Vic. I have drilled a hole on the plinth for you already ;). I have the T3Pro sitting there and is sounds sublime with Denon. Only reason why I am considering selling the combo is that I really want to have the Salvation TT, and now I finally have the T3Pro to go with it.

Thanks Juha... The problem is, then I'll want a 12" Jelco Arm.. hmmm.. (Good luck with the move back to Finland.)

The plinth was designed by Russ to take two tonearms, one 12" on the right upper corner and one 9" or 10" on the left upper corner of the plinth, SME included. Pictures have been requested by many to show the position of the 6mm hole drilled for the Terminator T3Pro, so here we are:
