If you'd like to spend $1,323 on a device that "enhances audio playback quality by modifying the interaction of your gear’s circuitry with the ambient electromagnetic field," have I got a deal for you. Above is the Blackbody Ambient Field Conditioner. Of course, to really notice a difference you'll most certainly need the same company's $1500 speaker cables and $700 RCA cable that "makes digital sound more analogue than ever." None of that will help though unless you start with the $1149 power cable featuring "double hand polished, twice gold plated high performance power plugs from Japan." But yeah, eventually you'll have to deal with that ambient electromagnetic field. May as well be now.:lol:

I have experimented extensively with a bottle of rum and a glass next to it. If the glass is regularly emptied and refilled this seems to have a clear effect on the quality of the musical reproduction. Just to make sure that it wasn't foo or junk science I have repeated this test in various locations and in the company of different witnesses. In each and every case the results were clearly conclusive.

Yes I get much the same results using Murphy's Stout. I'm confident I could pass a rigourous blind test, even with an unfamiliar system...It's a bit like the Mana shelving tweak where the more 'levels' you add the better the sound.;)

With suficient levels in place I finds it also makes watching the shite that passes for television these days somewhat more bearable...although I guess that tweak should really be posted over in the A/V section.

:doh:. I hadn't considered trying out any tweaks. Thanks for the suggestion. Got a hardware shop close by called Off License. Must see what suitable material he stocks that I can experiment with.

I happened to stumble across this site the other day (whilst hunting for high-res music).

I was skeptical of this item. A lot of their stuff seems to have really good reviews though, regardless of how stupidly they market some of it.

Yep, you have to be really careful about 'good reviews'. They are easily come by for pretty much anything!

But, as you imply, I doubt that anyone here has actually tried the goods. So who knows .... maybe quantum crystals would sound good, too. :)

I've also researched this upgrade & have developed my own refinement. As with all hi-fi, it's important to remove any necessary connections and interfaces from the circuit.

I first tried eliminating the glass & going straight to the source - 'sauce first' as it, were.
Results were encouraging. Here's a photo of me in the 'hot-seat', enjoying a particularly fine recording of chamber music.

Encouraged by my success, I decided to do away with the bottle/face interface as I felt it was smearing the macro-dynamics a little. To do this I had to construct a little circuit - here's the schematic.
