I no longer require the following items so I thought I'd offer them to fellow AoS members.

First up is a Beresford TC-7520 case - I searched far and wide for one of these when I planned to build a case matching linear PSU, plans changed and I re-built the whole lot (http://theartofsound.net/forum/showthread.php?t=14485), so now I have an original chassis up for grabs.

It is visually mint, complete with volume knob and gold selectors/holders. I enlarged the fixed output RCA holes by 2mm to fit CMC pure copper RCA's, so I will include a brand new pair of CMC pure copper RCA's (Originally £12/pair) in the sale.

I'm asking £15 for the case including the RCA's with post.

Also up for grabs is a Maplins High Current (4Amp) Variable Voltage (5/6/9/12/13.5/15V) power supply which cost me £36 and has had around 20 hours use. I set it to 13.5V on my 7520 with great effect using cans.

It can be used with a multitude of sources, SB/DC DacMagic etc

£15 inc post

Mr Nad,

PM replied, please note the standard TC-7520 PSU I have for sale is 12v, is the Caiman+ 12v also?

Lenny,

I'll take the original PSU, please!

I included the Caiman PSU in the packaging of the Caiman+ I’ll ship to you later this day. The PSU is suitable for all voltages between 100 and 240 V. All you need is a matching cable to connect the PSU to your electrical outlet. I think this PSU is 15 V, but you might confirm this with Stanley.

Werner.

I'll keep both the PSUs as there is a high possibility that one of them will be destroyed at some point by my pets

They are the reason that I no longer have headphones in the living room, the phone is DECT, we have no answering machine, and I don't use expensive speaker cable :steam:.

They are also the reason we won't be buying any new furniture, carpets, or curtains any time in the foreseeable future :hmm:

Nor will we be repapering the walls

Fortunately, thus far, they have not discovered the interconnects.

So, two PSUs, just in case...

OEM PSU now sold.

Lenny, I posted your PSU a few moments ago by RM First Class - The PO lady said there is a RM back-log so it might take a few more days than usual to arrive.

Thanks,
Ant

Typical of the RM. You pay for a service that you don't receive!

Indeed - I underestimated the postage cost too - £2 odd, never mind.

Hope it comes in useful.

Ant, I'm on air at the moment so can't check, but is the power supply suitable for a Touch, ( I know you put SB, but I think there is a difference in the voltage on a Touch?) and do you reckon there would be any sonic improvement with it?

Ant

IIRC the 'Touch' requires a 5V/3A PSU, the Maplins PSU is switchable to 5v and delivers 4A of current, it also comes with 8 power tips so it will likely fit.

Will be beneficial? I have no idea but folk approve of this Maplins PSU for the likes of the TC-7520 so it may be worth it, but there's only one way to tell.

If I had a Touch and required a 'better' PSU, I would be on the look out for a non SMPS (linear PSU), albeit one without the crazy £250-300 price tag.

Sorry, can't help much more than that.

Ant,

I will take the Beresford case - I am away until Jan 1st so if you can let me have details of how to pay (Paypal / Bank transfer) I will sort it out on Sunday.

My Buffalo DAC will prefer this to its piece of wood!
