Hi James, welcome to AoS :) You know I reckon that's the shortest introduction I have seen on here, so you have the record for that one :rfl:

So how about you let us know what hifi kit you use & the sort of music you listen to on it, just to make things a bit more interesting for those that may well say hi :D

Hello James and welcome to AoS. A little more expansion wouldn't go amiss!

Hello everybody.

I have been enjoying music from an early age (listening to my dad's music Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Yes, Rick Wakeman etc).
Current music likes are Americana (Mary Gauthier, Ryan Adams, Sam Baker, Slaid Cleaves, Shelby Lynn, Lucinda Williams etc), "Prog" Rock (Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Pineapple Thief, Pink Floyd etc), a selection of other artists - Stevie Ray Vaughan, Nils Lofgren, Jon Strong, Talk Talk, Tears for Fears, Blue Nile, Abba, Cara Dillon, Seth Lakeman, Karine Polwart, Lau, basically anything.

My dad bought me my first system, Dual CS505, Creek CAS4040, MS Festival II's (the speakers are still in use) at age (13).
Purchased loads of vinyl, then changed my system when I started working at the age of 16/17, LP12/Ittok/K9, Naim 32.5/Hi-Cap/110 and Linn Kans. Progressed through the Linn/Naim system and ended up with LP12/Lingo/Ekos/Arkiv, Naim 32.5/Hi-Cap/250 with Linn Kabers. In the early nineties through one thing and another sold the system and didn't really get another system until 10 years later.

After one thing and another from 2002 my system now consists of Rega Isis:), Primaluna Prologue 2 with EL34 valves and Zu Druid (Mundorf upgraded) speakers. Vinyl deck is a stock Technics SL1210 Mk2 (which I would like to be Zu Modified someday) with Denon DL103 cartridge through a NAD phono stage, although I still purchase vinyl, it doesn't really get used as the Isis (to my ears) is that good.

Hi James,
I was a little worried that you might take our gentle ribbing the wrong way, but it seems you saw it as the warm welcome that it was intended to be - great stuff............you're so obviously one of us!!

Nice to have you here - enjoy the forum.
Cheers

Great musical tastes, James, and I'm glad that groups like Abba got into your list, nice to see that.

Your stock Technics may not stay that way for long if you hang around here ;)
