Have you not tried unplugging/replugging the usb cable? :scratch:

USB Dac?
USB powered?
Could be the PC doing a bit of power saving, and switching off the USB port in question.
As Cans has said, unplugging and plugging the USB lead might well sort the problem out.

Maybe yourpower setting on the pc are taking it into sleep mode- you need to go into your properties and change them if stuff you wish to use doesn't start up when you want it

Easy answer. You're using a PC... go get a Mac... it'll never occur again!

Um
It seems that swapping the USB connection from the side to one on the rear seems to have done the trick! It was something Welder John mentioned on another thread not related to this in any way that prompted me to try..so kinda thanks John.

I've has similar issues with USB HDDs only being seen by the USB port the HDD was plugged into first.
In theory it shouldn't matter, but in practise....:eyebrows:

Marco.

It's as dependable as a high end TT setup, ie: not very ;)

"Practise"? Tut, tut! ;)

It looks like Chris was using the verb?

Noun = practice
Verb = practise

Andr'e - you may find that a powered USB hub would keep your DAC awake, rather than direct connection to a USB socket on the PC.

Also, have you tried looking in Control Panel | Power Options | Change Plan Settings?

Marco.

I missed the intent of this in my beer addled state last night :drinking:

Practice = verb and noun is more of an American way of doing things that's travelled back over here.
I don't care, 'cos they can't spell Whisky correctly :ner:

Lol... I was wondering what pish you were waffling on about last night! :mental: :eyebrows:

In all instances, I use 'practice'. For me, anything else just looks wrong (although I accept that it isn't, always).

Marco.

You'd never get away with that at my school when writing reports :)
