Hi All,
I plan to buy a DL103 this year at some point, but was wondering if it's possible to get a 160 retipped and where from?

Thanks
Mike :)

Dom's "done a DL110 and may be able to just put a new decent diamond on the end of a complete cantilever, insteadof grafting on a complete cantilever/diamond assembly. I think it just depends upon how much you want to spend.

Why not ask him. Much as I admire EsCo from decades ago, their international workload is now such that they're quoting a months and months waiting list...

Thank you all for the recommendations. It is possible to fit a new tip to the old cantilever assuming it is still ok, but even this may be costly given the cartridge price. Depends on how much the cart means to you. If you wish to enquire, please send me an email.

BTW John, your cart will be ready just after xmas :)

Been considering getting my old Stilton P77 re-tipped, will probably contact Dom in the New Year. It'd be a nice match for the Tecchy's std arm at any rate. :)

Re new diamond or new cantilever as well. I suppose I was going on the tapered cantilever of the DL160. Grafting a complete new cantilever onto the generator system may well be the best, since the quality of the whole may be a significant upgrade. When I'm ready to do my OC30, I'd prefer just a diamond, as the cantilever is special in any case and ends in a bit of glue where the original diamond was :(

Gawd, what is it about Christmas when we always cook too much, drink too much and stuff ourselves stupid. It's been years since I could manage Christmas pud directly after the roast, and, at 30 odd grammes of sugar for a small individual pud (the other two don't like it), I can't really imbibe Christmas pud nowadays and no, I'm not sensible enough to make it last two days :mental: Maybe a mince pie and no-sugar custard will do later on. Just sitting sprawled on the sofa awaiting "The Queen..." well stuffed and glowing with alcoholic goodness :D
