Greetings to all here!

I've been lurking on this nice forum for a while, and since I now actually have questions I can't find answers to in "Search", it seems properly to introduce myself. :)

My name is Blaz Berlec, I'm from Slovenia and I'm 34 years old. Had a passion for proper music reproduction since forever, and I bought my first real system in 1993 - Rotel RA-930AX Mk.II integrated amp, Rotel RCD-930AX CD player and JMLab/Focal Opal 9Ti bookshelf speakers. Been satisfied with the system for years until this year when I switched to XTZ A-100 D3 amplifier, XTZ 99.36 MkII Speakers and Squeezebox Touch. No CD player in my system any more...

And all would be well and simple if I hadn't wanted to satisfy my curiosity in vinyl playback. :scratch: So I bought an used Technics SL-1200, Hi-Fi Test LP (and a couple of new albums) and I'm now trying to set that up.

The problem is, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. No close friends that are interested in vinyl. Or any quality reproduction. So I'm learning from internet forums, but that's quite hard since I haven't found any "Turntable for Dummies" collected tips.

I'm a metalhead since junior school, but I won't bore you with details about that. I listen to a lot of other stuff too, so sound quality has some meaning. :eek:

Anyway, I really have to say I like this place, friendly and well mannered. And seems to be THE place for Technics SL 1200 questions. :) But I will put those in their proper place.

Best regards,

Blaz

Hi Blaz,

Your English is rubbish!:lol::lol::lol:

I have a friend that moved to Ciginj last year. I have also been to Postojna Caves....beautiful, but freezing cold in Summer!

Never heard of Ciginj. Or Čiginj, as it's apparently written. Turns out I drove through it a lot of times... Guess not a very memorable village. :)

About the "scary photo" - yeah, that's another very expensive hobby of mine, medieval reenactment. Living history. 15th century man-at-arms wannabe. :) And to combine it with another expensive hobby, photography - these are the photos of an event in Austria that best represents what our little group is striving for:

About my English - all praises (and complaints) go to spell checking in Firefox. I'm quite good at simple sentences, and incredibly frustrated if I have to express something more subtle... :P

Welcome to AOS Blaze.

Interesting pictures. I always fancied ago at that sort of thing and I have the hair and beard for it. Celtic warrior, Viking or some such. Lots of local people are into World War 2 renactments but not so many into, for me at least the more interesting time periods.
