Hello folks,

I've been reading this forum for about a year now - it has been a great help to me in choosing my turntable. Last year I bought a fully modded M5G from Kevin at KAB. My choice was narrowed down at the time between the Technics and the Rega P3/24 - since they stopped making the Technics I decided to jump on it.

Anyhow my system consists of:
- Technics SL1210 M5G w/KAB Power Supply, Strobe Disabler, Damper, Isonoes and KAB Ortofon ProS30 cartridge
- McIntosh C220 tube Preamp
- Bob Latino VTA M125 Monoblock tube amps
- Klipsch Decorator Cornwalls with Bob Crites mods
- Some cheap old CD player

This year I was going to look into buying a new Dac (likey peachtree iDac) but I think I'm going to buy a Mike New bearing instead - I'm going to just focus on the Turntable this year.

I live in the East Bay close to San Francisco - and as far as music goes I'm all over the place - jazz, rock, funk, etc.

Thanks,

Chris

Hi Chris, and welcome to AoS. Lovely part of the World where you are - San Francisco would have to be one of my favourite cities. Sounds like a lovely system, too. Enjoy the forum, and merry Christmas! :)

Hello Chris, a warm welcome from me as well :) I love this bit:-
- Some cheap old CD player ;)

In all honesty if vinyl is your thing then keep going at the Techie :) We aren't all the same thankfully but go with your heart! Using the head often involves too much thought as I have discovered today :rfl:

I gave up as I was getting no-where very fast indeed :eyebrows:

Bests to you for the new year & I hope you enjoy your stay :)

Thanks very much everyone for the warm welcome.

I hope you are all enjoying the holidays - we just returned from Arizona where we spent a week between Santa Fe, NM and Flagstaff AZ - wow those are some beautiful places - we'll probably leave CA very soon.

Back home - younger son had a party (place smells funny/furniture moved around) :donk:- thank goodness no one messed with my gear - my exposed woofers seem to be intact - no pushed in dust covers or beer bottle marks.
