Cheapo Christmas presents?

I'm not expecting miracles. I was also very surprised recently at the sound from one of the Bose units - might have been something like this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/SoundDock%C2%AE-10-digital-music-system/dp/B0041H9Z0E/ref=sr_1_26?ie=UTF8&qid=1324251536&sr=8-26 - pricey and quite heavy, but someone who wants to take these things around for weekends away showed me his. I was really impressed by the sounds it made.

Hi Dave , have a look at the Klipsch Igroove HG . I had one for a while before

I picked up on computer based audio. I don't often recommend this type of

thing but this is seriously good for the money . Have a look at the feedback

Frankly, Dave, you could buy a mini T-amp and a nice small pair of speakers for much less than the cost of that Bose thing, and I'd lay odds that it would sound better, too.

Firstly, I'm not going to buy the Bose thing, because I don't have a need for it, and I may agree with you about the SQ - though I was surprised at how good it actually was. We can argue about the SQ of T amps later on - the important thing is to get the Christmas shopping done!

Secondly, it's not for me. It's for someone else who won't want to be .....'d in connecting things up and who has expressed a slight interest in some form of music for an office, which could be a DAB radio, or an internet radio, or one of those docking things for her iPods etc.

Thirdly, I would like to spend less than £100 if possible, though I'd spend more if I could get something good - but not a lot more. I looked at internet radios, and most of them are merely OKish I think for the money. I was really surprised to find that the Squeezebox Boom which I have now costs £100 more than when I bought it.

If you're near a best buy store, they are having a closing down sale. They stocked squeezebox's, q acoustics, kef, Yamaha, denon, grado. My local store had grado sr60i's for £39.99

I don’t know if this fits the cheapo requirement but I bought one of these for a relative a while ago and it does a pretty decent job.
Oh arr, you can get them in pink as well :)
