Though this is not a ground-up DIY, but it is my rebuilding of my 1979 Altec Lansing Model 15 speakers.

I rebuilt the x-overs w/ Solen Fast Caps, rewired the speakers w/ Kimber Kable 4TC (though photo shows Audioquest before I changed my mind), installed robust binding posts, and refinished cabinets to like new condition.

Thanks Keiths. It was a really enjoyable project to do because of history behind Altecs, plus there is a lot of elbow room to work on a speaker this size. BTW, they sound great with a big open sound. The bass is a little light weight even though it is all there. My tube amp fills it in just fine.
