By gum, there's a ferret in me garage...

Popped into my garage to grab some grub out of the freezer last night to find myself confronted by the cutest little Ferret I've ever clapped eyes on. It appears to have been well cared for as it is quite fat and its coat is in fabulous condition. Once I'd offered it a plate of dog food and some water, it seemed to get over its initial nervousness and it is actually a very friendly little beastie. It seemed quite content in the garage so I put an old pillow down for it to sleep on and left it locked in there over night with said food and water. Just got off the phone to the RSPCA and they are sending someone around to collect it. Truth be told I will be sorry to see it go, but we have a house full of pets (a dog, a house rabbit, a guinea pig and a dwarf hamster) so keeping it isn't an option... :)

Doesn't happen everyday... back when I lived in Liverpool years ago there was a bloke locally who would walk his ferret around the streets on a lead like it was a dog.

I've heard similar accounts Martin, the RSPCA have got it now. The chap who came to pick it up said it was in very good condition and was obviously well cared for and loved. He reckoned it is being missed and anticipates that it won't be with them for long :)

I had a couple of ferrets years ago . Had to get rid of them when we got a puppy. This one has obviously escaped . I hope it gets back to its' owner as
it takes a bit of expertise to look after them.

We have been assured by the RSPCA officer that it has gone to a specialist Ferret rescue centre and that if it isn't claimed after six weeks it will be re-homed, which was reassuring as I feared it might be destroyed.

You don't arf find some weird sh*t in your garage Dave ;) If I was you I'd take my time out there one day as you might find an escaped Mark Levinson power amp that is desperately looking for a power socket :D

Now there's a thought. I'm not so sure the ML will be quite so easily coaxed out from behind the freezer with a bowl of dog food as the Ferret was, perhaps I could tempt it out with the DR5 :lolsign:
