Hi all,
Just discovered this forum about 2 weeks ago and have been lurking around. There are very few forums out there with such a passion for sound and some very tasty systems.
I live in the Netherlands and have been busy with listening to music more seriously since the '80. I remember spinning LP's on my fathers Technics and buying my first system when I was 16.
After I went to live together with my girl friend, I didn't have enough room for the main speakers, a set of B&W CDM 7SE. So I didn't unpack the stereo at all. My friends rightly denounced me a hi-fi traitor
Then I got the itch.
And via Head-Fi.org came upon the dark art of headphone amps and good head phones. This led to AKG K701 fed by a Graham Slee Solo Ultra-Linear and a Marantz SA8003 as dedicated front end. The wife (by now promoted from girl friend status) had become sort of an audiophile as well.
This opened the door for a hi-fi set. The rest you can read in the my set section.
I listen to a wide range of stuff but have a soft spot for all thing Pink Floyd and Marillion. Later rockers like Pearl Jam, Alice in chains and soundgarden are to be found in the vinyl collection also. I like playing metal too.
Tori Amos, Dead can dance, wu tang clan, Orbital, Lady Gaga, Enya, Diana Krall : you name it and there will be a moment I'll be into it.
Lately I've been discovering the joys of Vinyl, High Rez donwloads and the magic of Tubes. I hope to learn and share experiences with like minded music lovers.
Cheers!
