Hello,
We have a little Creek CAS4040 (RCA) And were thinking about using it with the PC, and of course we will need to get speakers.
Any good particular bookshelf speakers that work well with this amp?
Regards.
I could recommend many speakers usable with a 4040. Go and listen to a few :)
Ah, you want advice on vintage little boxes? The Heybrook HB1 was popular with the 4040's we sold. I suspect the other classics like MS20's, Wharfedale 505's and warm toned KEF Coda's. Much higher than these and the speakers will reproduce too much of the amp and source...

You could pick up a loverly pair of 1980's Castle 'Trent' or 'Clydes' for peanuts.
Castles always got great reviews that's true and had their huge share of "Best Buys." Wasn't the proprietor ex-Wharfedale?
Didn't those Castles use foam roll-surrounds for the mid-bass? If so, this will need replacing now (I think the Heybrook did too).

All the castles I have ever seen Mark have used rubber roll surrounds. That goes right back to the Richmond & to it's modern equivalent the Trent (which I still own) :)
