Through a bizarre set of coincedences I have ended up taking custody of this rather splendid neutered Tom cat:

He was a bit skittish first few days, not eating or drinking but has now settled down a bit.

I always knew you were a big old softy at heart! ;) It is obvious from the look in his eyes who will be boss!

Yep - he was not happy with my extended lie in this morning, got me out of bed by purring loudly, clambering all over me and prodding my face with his paws...now he's had his grub it's back to kip on the couch (for him not me :))

What a great looking cat. I'm very jealous, but I really couldn't have one again - I'd sneeze myself silly.

I think he's quite bored with us humans but is feeling a little more accomodating than usual due to his obvious superiority. Dogs have owners, cats have staff.

Best,
Barry

What a lovely cat, Martin! So what were the bizarre set of circumstances that led to you getting him? :)

Here's our 'cat in a pot', called 'Mitze':

Marco.

Well, to keep a very long story short he was living with a friend if mine's mother after being rescued from starvation by her dog...when the mother got sick (she was 84) she was concerend about someone looking after the cat so I said to my friend I would have him if the worst came to the worst and her mum died. A few months later she did pass away pretty suddenly so I had to honour my commitment.

But he is great, a real character and he is eating me out of house and home!

This most idyosyncratic of creatures seems to be settling well into his new home. This morning, after a hard night on the tiles, some breakfast and an extended play fight in which I came off considerably the worse, Mister Pud relaxes on the rug:

Paws-n-claws-n-teeth-n-things :) Big paws too, bless his heart.

Anyone seen the "Simon's cat" animations on you tube and elsewhere? So realistic and the one where Simon needs to be woken up in the morning is priceless, bringing back so many memories, Titchpuss gently tapping me on the nose and knitting hell out of my chest, and Ollie tapping me with his "needles" and all but raking the bed to get me to wake up... In the end, Ollie realised he couldn't make me get up, so he'd wake wifey up to dig me in the ribs :D

You were lucky Dave, this one wakes me up by jumping up and down on my head. He is a ton weight, too.

Nice cat, tabbies are cool.

Always liked cats & dogs. Less bother than the family.

I lost my poor old ginger and white 'Boy' just before midnight new year's eve a couple of years ago. I sat with him through it. Poor old sod had some sort of undiagnosed wasting disease. He was a huge cat, 4 feet long lying down, from tip of tail to toes! All muscle too.

Just got a new dog though 'Tippy' and he's great.

Maybe it's the 'five skinner doobie' that's relaxed him/her.
