I'm just greedy... Yes I'd like another pair of NS1000M to go with the three pairs I already own :D

It doesn't matter about the condition of the enclosures, just as long as all the drive units are ok. If they happen to have blown tweeters I may well still be interested :eyebrows:

The bass & midrange drivers must be fully working. A little cosmetic damage to the grills isn't the end of the world either, so lets see what's out there :)

You'd have to wait until next year to find out i'm afraid Ali. I just missed out on a pair of the midrange drivers about 2 hours ago - gutted :doh: I got outbid...

However I have all the drivers I need (apart from 2 carbon fibre Monacor 9" (http://monacor.co.uk/products/speakerbuilding-hifi6-9/vnr/104130/)) to make new front speakers, a centre & the surrounds.

I just fancied going MTM with the surrounds using an extra mid per enclosure & doubling up on the bass drivers :eyebrows:

Opinions vary, if you have an understanding wife or live on your own and not house proud they will be fine, personally I think there are far better speakers but that is me, you need a beast of an amp to drive them but some on the AOS are power nutters so will have the necessary wattage to do them justice.

Seriously, I think if you have to ask, you'll never understand - though you lot should know by now that Mark treads his own path (in a good way!) and his system now sounds amazing, so I can only imagine what it will be like once "Doc" has had his way with it! Best of luck tracking some down, matey!

Cheers Jon, Frankenspeakers (:eyebrows:) will be built next year. I'm going to give up the booze & smoking early in the new year... I think productivity will increase a tad ;)

I've heard a pair driven with an original stereo chassis WAD 300b PP amp, with which they sounded very good indeed. We tried several other amps on the day, and the WAD was far and away the best. They can be very unforgiving with some amps, making you wonder what all the fuss is about. Get the right match and they will sing.

Gave up the booze 6 years ago and gave up the fags 5 years ago . Best thing I ever did mate. Much healthier than I was 10 years ago. SWMBO and little SWMBO now have more money to spend at the shops. Little darlings that they are ;)

Well the first time I heard a pair of Yammies was many years ago, when a mate bought a pair and was driving them with his Technics stack system he had at the time. The treble could take your fillings out!

The ones I've heard more recently belong to Mike Homar, which have since been re- veneered by Colin Topps. I was selling the WAD 300b amp I had and he was interested in hearing it with the Yams, so I went up for the weekend. I took with me also the MF A370 and the Audioromy 813 amps I had at the time. We had a good listen to the MF and Audioromy amps first, as I reckoned the extra power of these would be good on the speakers. Incorrectly as it turned out. The MF sounded DIRE on them, which was a surprise as I'd heard it sounding rather good with some of my own speakers. The Audioromy just sounded very average, nothing special.

I was amazed at the difference when we hooked up the WAD. Everything just snapped into focus, and I finally heard what all the fuss over these speakers is about.Very detailed in the monitor stylee, but not harsh. Air and space around instruments and vocals was lovely, and imaging was superb. Bass kicked arse too.

Mike bought the amp on the spot, and I don't blame him, they are a great pairing, and the best example of synergy I've ever heard I think.
