I have my spare pair of these superb Celestion DL10 S2 speakers for sale.

They are beasts with 10" bass drivers, 6" mid range and a 1.5" Titanium tweeter. Simular size but a little bigger to the Harbeth SHL5.

These are unmolested and come boxed with packaging so delivery is fine. All of the drivers are in superb condition. They were never really used much as the person I bought them from was quite elderly.

These are my spare pair that I bought just in case I needed to replace and of the drivers. I'm not going to need these so I'd like them to go to a good home.

Sound wise these are really very, very good indeed. The last of the best Celestions circa early to mid 1980's. The DL range was DL6, DL8, DL10 and DL12.

Condition wise they are in superb nick with a slight scuff on the side of one of the cabs and a few small scratches (general wear). The grilles are fine, just a bit dusty.

These are great for valve and transistor amplifiers with a sensitivity rated at 91db

I'm selling them what I paid for them £150 + delivery

Paypal gift please.

Hey Joe,

How would these compare to the likes of the Celestion Ditton 33 or 44? Any idea?

Have a pair of Celestion Ditton 22s which have been loaned to me by a member of this forum, and I must say I am liking the sound.

Hi Nathan.

As far as I remember in comparison with the 44's is that these have a nicer bass range and these certainly go louder than the 44's without distortion with more head room.

That could be something that can be tackled with a crossover upgrade on the 44's I'm sure but these are superb in sound, staging is superb, very musical and very well made indeed.

The bass driver is cast alloy and even the tweeter surround is cast alloy... Something you don't see much of these days.

Hope that helps.

I wonder how much shipping to Co. Cork in Ireland would be???

It will be 42.48 + VAT but I'll do them for £130 with that quote in mind.

I'll have to mull it over, Joe. As I've a number of purchases lined up at the moment with which these would be competing.

One of the main bonuses of the 3-way sound is the midrange dynamics created by a 3 or 4 inch midrange driver, which is light and fast. How does the DL10 sound in the midrange? Given that it is using a 6.5 inch midrange to do the work?

Hello Nathan.

Superb... I can't fault them to be honest. For the price you can't go wrong.

Without a decent midrange you wouldn't have a decent soundstage and these have a superb soundstage. The 'white coats' at Celestion in the early to mid 80's knew what they were doing with the DL S2 range.

Hi Adder,
These interest me but I'm looking for some decent bass extension. Do you know how low these speakers go?

Hi Darren. the frequency response is 45-22 khz - but sound a bit lower to me. They have very decent bass.

The dimentions are 720 x 340 x 300mm -:- Weight : ~ 20.0kg each.

Bargain just been had ;) I remember the DL6 with a lot of affection & some awe - clever design, if these DL10 improve on those then someone is in for a hell of a pair of speakers imo :eyebrows:
