Hedlund horns,Lowther DX2 and some Lab12 bass cabs, crossing at 120Hz perfect for the Hedlunds which are driven by a very sweet Audio Note Vindicator silver 2A3 amp

Hi Rob, when you say Lab 12 I'm assuming you are refering to the Eminence Lab 12 driver? They were originally designed for high power horn loading applications so I think I'm probably right :eyebrows:

I guess it all makes a bit of noise then  Nice looking horn setup you are playing with

Wow those speakers are amazing,

I have to ask whats the thing on top of the tripod?

yep Eminence Lab12, enclosure originally designed by Danley Labs, not really a domestic speaker, but goes down to a true trouser flapping 30Hz.
Had the Hedlunds first and was thinking about some tapped horns or some open baffles to compliment the Hedlunds which drop off quite quickly at around 50Hz.The Lab12's became available from a job lot of 8.
The Howes were some PX25's I tried but preferred the 2A3 AN.
The tripod is a 4 way mic part of a Trinnov ST2 setup.Allows me to set up a two way active crossover without all that messing with components.
A MC2 MC450 amp drives the bass
Really just a little experiment but my lovely Oris horns have been resigned to the kitchen for the moment as its sounding pretty good !

Aye, if I remember right it was Danley that got Eminence to build the LAB 12 to his specifications :eyebrows: Quite a driver in all honesty, superb specifications for a whole lot of enclosure types...

Now of course Eminence also make the LAB 15...

Just out of interest, are the bass horns fitted with two LAB 12s? I'm sure I have the design of a Danley front loaded horn here using a pair of them

:lolsign: Talk about rock the house, I hope you live in a detached house :eyebrows:

Nice, cheers for the link Rob ;) Looks like a pretty flat response over a quite wide band with a bank of them :) Don't even think about the volume level with 400W per driver & 105Db 1W/M sensitivity :D
