Hi, Haydn here calling from a small island with just 150 souls, one shop and one pub. Somewhere in Orkney.

Listening to mainly vinyl but other media also through a Funk Vectored LP12 w/Benz MicroGlider H2, Shanling Solid state HDCD player, Aloia pre and PMC AML1s.

Wide ranging listening tastes from classical to modern ambient electronic.

I like self sufficiency, alternative energy, gardening, real ale, cats, red wind, single malt and Portuguese brandy, freedom, live and let live. And a certain footie team who play in red and white.

I don't like government, arrogance, red tape, animal and human exploitation, greed and selfishness.

Freedom of choice for all !!!

Hi Haydn, cheers for popping into the welcome section, a warm welcome to AoS from me also.

So you like red wind but you dislike red tape huh?

I think you might have made a typo

All the best & I hope you enjoy your stay here ;)

We do get a lot of wind up here but I have yet to see a red one. However, I am supping a glass of something rather nice just now.

Perhaps a red wind is a fast moving red mist:steam:

Orkney is one of those places I have promised I must visit before I eventually die. I'd like to visit with a Pentax 67 camera fitted with a 55mm lens and some Fuji Acros film and take some stunning images of what promises to be a truly stunning place.
As for hi-fi, I adore vinyl/analogue and valves. It is the most sublime way to experience music and the emotion it conveys. You are indeed very welcome.

Indeed this is a grand place for photography at any level. Incredible light.
Also amazing wildlife, particularly migrating birds.

We run some self catering chalets which might be of interest to visitors, just google Pirate Gow's chalets. Hope this blatant self publicity will be allowed.
