Some nice EMTs and SP10s being used in the later vids! It's interesting to note the types of T/Ts the BBC used:

Garrard 301, Gates (CB-77?), Technics SP10 and EMT 950 - all high quality items and far better than the computer shite they use now to broadcast music! :rolleyes:

I'm sure that the BBC also used Thorens TD-124s, but didn't notice any featured in the vids....

The BBC did use Thorens 124/II decks at their Radio Manchester studios. :)

Ah, so they weren't 'rolled out' for general use in all of their studios, a la Gates, SP10, etc? :)

I intend to add a Gates/Gray Research T/T to my system, as back-up for my modded Techy, in due course, to which I will fit my G800 cartridge (shortly due to have a 'posh' stylus fitted to it by Dominic). Should be fun!

Not to my knowledge Marco, nor do I know what arms were used with them. The BBC used a whole variety of arms with their decks, ranging from their own designs to SMEs (with the Technics SP10).

I think the latter were only used by Radio 3 (can't have the Radio 1 hoi polloi using such delicate items! :lol:)

Obviously the EMT decks were used their own arms, but not neccesarily EMT cartridges. The Shure SC35 body I gave you came out of an EMT headshell, though I don't know of its provenance.
