Found this site recently and pleased I have. So this is where the sages of sound are to be found!

I live in London UK, my music tastes span from blues, jazz, soul & r'n'b, classical and of course rock. I recently bought a Gyro dec and have rekindled my love affair with vinyl.

Missed this sweet feeling so much.

My current system caters more for 5.1 digital with my bose acoustimass and yamaha 5.1 amp. the addition of the Gyro dec means changes are needed!

Thank you for the kind welcome guys!

My own field is in computing, but I have to say Ive had it with the digital audio, its ruined any pleasure I got from music. Movie wise my 5.1 set up runs very well for the room I have it in (12ft x 10ft with soild brick walls). I have plenty of dts/dd audio as well as many flac copies of my music, all in the hope of retaining the best quality. But the fact that I spend far too much time on it, has kept me from my main aim...enjoying my music!

From now on my aim is to revert back to the good old days of turning on my amp and turntable and of course finding something nice to play. For discreet listening im still using a pair of beyerdynamic dt100's. They've never failed me yet!

Hello Raz,

"Sages of Sound"? Well we are greatly honoured, but really we are more like the 'Sultans of Swing'!

Fortunately you have become aware of your lack of musical enjoyment, and recognise the need to do something about it before it's too late.

Ask away if you think there is any advice we can give you. And if not, let us know anyway what you are doing to regain the lost enjoyment.

Welcome to the Forum

Regards

Hi Raz & a warm welcome to the forum from me to :)

Even though I run an mixed stereo & AV system I think I'd get the stereo side of things sorted to given your situation ;) Bose Acoustimass are very wife friendly but unfortunately that's about as far as it goes I'm afraid :eyebrows:

Bests to you & I hope you enjoy your stay here on AoS
