This has been covered (sorry for the pun) before but i'm buggered if I can find the thread...!

Where do those that have LP's buy their covers from?

Not the orange peely ones or flimsy poly ones but nice heavyweight glass clear ones that can take gatefold as well as single LP's. I believe they are 200 microns in weight but I could be wrong.

Can you still buy the gatefold covers?

I have aquired some new LP's and want to keep the covers nice and minty.

I bought a load before but have run out and the record shop has since closed down...:(

Try covers 33 (http://covers33.co.uk/index.php/record/record-pvc-covers?SID=ogmjc1sd0ev516kp3753jpm2e6) Dave. They might have what you're looking for.

Thanks David, I have had a look on their site. Unfortunatly they dont give the weight or state if they are the glass clear type or the orange peely ones.

I have seen these...http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-LP-12-PVC-RECORD-SLEEVES-COVERS-GLASS-CLEAR-/310254295167?pt=UK_Home_Garden_CD_DVDStorage_SM&hash=item483c98d87f

They a tad expensive but if I find no others then these babies will fit the bill.

I'd give them a call on 01422 822 679. They're really helpful.

Have you tried Snow Records (http://www.snowrecords.co.jp/servlet/StoreFront) in Japan? - that's where I get my inner sleeves from & they're cheaper than UK sources.

Thanks everyone,

Checked them all out but couldn't find what I wanted.

Then I found this site -http://soundswholesaleltd.co.uk/acatalog/35.html

50 x glass clear 170 micron sleeves for £19.25

It seems the best deal so far so I ordered them...:)

Are you after the 400g poly sleeves or the PVC ones which are 200micron PVC ? The later are the only ones made in gatefold sleeve configuration. Problem with the PVC variety is that they laminate / stick to shiny sleeves and can cause damage long term. Also excessive space if you have 100/1000s of records. I find the thick poly sleeves most convenient and they don't crinkle / yellow over many years like PVC. The ones listed are big enough for the thickest gatefold sleeves.

Sounds like a dating agency for the undiscerning!

Marco.

Enjoyed that one Marco! If he was discerning we'd have nothing in common, "must be non-discerning" should be in the ethos somewhere.

Best,
Barry
