Just noticed this page in my Briggs book 'More about Loudspeakers'.
Some sage advice for men on the virtue of being the 'master' of the house and enforcing sound acoustic principles over the women and children.
Also handy advice about what to do if your wife has moved your 'concrete column' into the garden.:lol:

A distance of 6"/9" can make quite a difference to results.

Don't forget the advice of Angus McKenzie in his 1976 Hi-Fi Choice Loudspeaker Guide ;
A good idea is to put your speakers on casters so that her in doors can move them easily to hoover behind them.Mind you,he also recommended bell wire for connecting them.:eek:

My Uncle made some drain pipe speakers ,mind you his favourite record was the mallard going up shap fell,sounded pretty good to me on them.A bit wasted on him as he was deaf in one ear.
I was always in awe of aunty Joan but she never put his speakers in the garden,i wonder what Mr Briggs advice would have been had she done it.
Seek medical advice???:lol:
