Yes, this is a puzzle. I actually have 3 of these. I'm keeping one just in case I ever need one again. I used to use these to connect various sources including a Transporter to the two Caimans that I had. The sound from the Transporter/Caiman combination was absolutely amazing so these are very good cables.

As a pair, they would make a very good analogue interconnect too.
