Hello

I picked up a pair of each of these from a car boot sale yesterday,

Googled around a bit and found a bit of information on them.

Am i right in thining the codas have a b110 bass driver and a t27 tweeter, and the Chorales also have a t27 tweeter? but not sure on the bass driver in these,

So is the codas basically the same as a ls3/5a or not ? as im sure they use the same drivers?

Im not sure if to sell or keep them now :scratch:

Ah yeah thats the ones, so basically a bigger version of the b110 is the b200?

If they are SP1003 & SP1032 but the units are as far as it goes

Similar apart from different cabs and mods to the cabs, wiring, entirely different crossovers, which matched the drivers in the LS3/5A and selected drivers for the LS3/5A.

I'm certain that others will have greater insight than me.

Ah right that makes sense then, and im pretty sure they are the same as that but not 100% sure.

When you say selected drivers where they speaicaly selected ones from the b110's to be used in them?

The Chorale was a smaller version of the Cadenza, which predated the R104 models and the smaller Corelli. Not bad at all.

As for trying to cobble together a sort-of LS3/5A, may fortune favour the foolish :lolsign: :sofa:

Im not sure what to do with the Chorale's sell or keep them, Im proberly keeping the codas for the office system

The main issue with all of these bextrene wonders wasn't the "quack," which I think KEF had well sorted at the time (the major problems came later when they had to change the material slightly), but the fact that neither the B110 or B200 went up high enough to be ideal and the T27 tweeter didn't seem to go down quite low enough to make for a seamless blend.. The LS3/5A used a resonating circuit to try to get the B110 to stretch just high enough, but the pre "AB era" crossovers KEF used didn't do this as I remember. To be honest, I never thought it a big issue and always preferred the Chorale to the then outgoing Linton 2's and Celestion County/Ditton 15's of the time (it is thirty eight years since I directly compared them though...).

Joe, if the speakers are going on the desktop, the Coda would be best I reckon, but if you can use highish stands, then the Chorales should be great and it may be worth seeing if the crossover can be upgraded, not just in components, but in design - I can't remember if the Corelli's used a different, higher power version of the B200 driver - they may well have done.
