Yep it's mildly modded Garrard DD75 with an SME Series IIIs arm and Goldring 1012GX bolted to it.

Makes lovely noises it does:).

Times has been hard, so me Dad built this up for me out of his 'spare bits'.

Well done :) Just take care to site it properly and use cartridges in the future that the SME likes (Ortofon OM, Shure etc..).

Anyone got a Super OM20 or 30 going spare;-)?? I used to have a 10 and 30, great cartridge it was, then I stupidly sold it!

Actually the Goldring seems very happy, no tracking issues, sounds comfy, res freq tests about 10-12hz, so 'ok'.

I'll do a bit of research on the cartridges for this arm, I've always been a Rega Rb250/300 type person so i'm not clued up in the strange ways of SME low mass things.
