Hello Artists,
The title of this thread says it all:).
I am Pani from India currently residing at Singapore.
I believe all of us are audiophiles by birth. It is not an acquired taste. So instead of stating how long I have been an audiophile I would rather say I have been into HiFi for about 7 years now. I recently moved to Singapore (2 months back) and had to sell my entire setup prior to the relocation.

In India I had a rather modest setup built around ATC SCM40 speakers and Symphonic Line RG1 MK4 amplifier. The source was primarily digital in the form of a Reimyo DAP777 and later an Audio Aero Capitole Ref SE. While I have been doing digital seriously, I always knew my heart is with Analogue. But in India there are some extreme limitations around analogue. There are very few dealers who sell good TT setups. Demo is even more far fetched. And, there are hardly any LP shops. One is totally on his own in the analogue hobby back in India. I somehow never got the courage to take the plunge.

Now, that I am in Singapore which is comparatively an analogue heaven I decided I will do it. It has been a long wait. I started auditioning TTs about 6 weeks back. After listening to about 40 odd TT setups. I short listed two TTs. An Avid Acutus SP and Platine Verdier. Between them the warmer Platine was too good resist. So, finally I have decided to get either the Platine or the Nouvelle Platine. Still deciding because of budget constraints. Some people say that the Nouvelle is extremely close to the Platine sonically. Just in any case any of you have any experience with Nouvelle, please do share.

The music I listen to is all-round. Mark Knopfler is my favourite solo artist. But Ella, Tracy Chapman, Jack Johnson, Ray Charles, Cat Stevens, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Jennifer Warnes, Eagles, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Fleetwood Mac...etal, I listen to all of them and many more. May be I am not into Opera and hardcore Jazz (Sonny Rollins type) all that much.

I happened to visit this forum few times in the last 2 weeks because Google will always bring me here whenever I am looking for something related to the Denon DL-103 or Auditorium 23:). I really liked the fact that people here discuss hifi keeping in mind music and musicality. Or is it only the DL103 guys, I need to find that out:). Hope to learn and share with you for a long long time !!

Welcome to AOS Pani

There was nothing modest about your previous set up at all; all wonderful equipment indeed.

We love photos of members systems on AOS, so I think I can speak for others that we would love to see some of your system. If you feel up to it put them in the Gallery section.
