These are the beginning of my disposal of a large collection of Hifi based literature.
These digest size books, were a good source of information at the time for the Hifi connoisseur and are still a really good read if you are interested in - or own - top end Hifi. They discuss the theory and technology then give good reviews on all the best equipment available and the data sheet for each.

1) Receivers - no number – circa 1976

5) cartridges and Headphones – no 13
6) Loudspeakers 3 – no15
7) Cassette decks and tapes 4 – no 17 – circa 1980
8) Turntables and tonearms 3 – no18
9) Cartridges and headphones – no 20
10) Cassette Decks and tapes -no29
11) Loudspeakers no 31 (circa 1983)

All the money from these sales will go to my favourite charity - Stray Aid - a charity that matches lost and found dogs with distraught,,,,then happy owners.:)

I will cover the postage as my contribution to the charity (probably £1.46 per book) and the rest is your contribution to the charity through my 'just giving' account.

You can't really lose, even if you don't like the book, you haven't lost anything, just given a bit of money to a worthy cause!

Please have a look at the list and if you want one or more 'bagsy' them on the forum. I will then PM you to let you know how much to put into the just giving account and to get your address.

At the minute I would like a charitable donation of £12 for each of these (delivered) and if there are no takers I will drop it each week:) I will also mail on trust and you can donate on receipt!

Please note all are in good condition, some excellent, some with a 1 cm piece removed from the back cover (to reduce vibration in a tonearm probably!!)

If you appreciate what I am doing here, please feel free to contribute to the charity anyway via my Just giving page - even if you don't fancy any books.

There will be more coming up including a load of 'hifi yearbooks' and Briggs books

Enjoy

I don't know the number, but do you have the turntable one with a greenish front and two tonearms "playing" the record? Someone else here swiped the last one from under my nose.....

Hi Dave, I have managed to find some turntable books in the loft they are:

No 24 - Turntables and tonearms - really nice condition £10
No 30 - Turntables and tonearms - really nice condition £10
No 34 - Turntables and compact disc units - really nice condition £10

No 12 is really tatty and the pages are falling out so i'll not include that one.

I don't think any are the one you are referring to unfortunately, but I can't seem to upload any images to show you

Dave

Dave,
This will tell you how to link to your pictures so that they can be seen here directly. There is a section specifically related to Photobucket.

Hello Dave,
If the number 24 Turntables and Tonearms isn't the one that DSJR is looking for, I'll take it please.

Regards

Angus

Hi guys, thanks for all your support - last few left at £9 each (it costs me £1.50 to send each one so if no-one is interested I'll pop them on the international market). Cassette decks mustn't be popular any more! All for a good cause remember!
Cheers
Dave.

Hi Dave, the book has arrived - Thank you!

They sure don't review components like they used to, astonishingly in-depth testing with a plethora of measurements and technical jizary. It really does put that other modern mag to shame, you know, the one that 'some say' offers stars in exchange for glossy ad space and tells you nothing what it was tested with/how when where or why - Just a few BS 'journalists' personal opinions.

Although not printed I'm guessing it's circa 76/77 based on the amps reviewed, there's some tasty "best buys" in there which I've already hit the 'bay in search off....

What I found quite nice is that a few of the companies advertised in the circa 34 year old book are still going strong today - Sevenoaks, Superfi and surprisingly 'Comet' - "the company that's high on fidelity but low on price". I thought they'd always just sold washing things and beer chillers - What happened to the audio....

Anyhow, cheers again Dave and good luck in reaching your total.

Best,
Ant
