Hello to all,
Thought it was time to stop my occasional lurking and get involved!
My name is Julian and I live in Highgate, London.
I mainly listen to classical music and collect 60's and 70's vinyl recordings - favourites are Ravel, Sibelius, Rachmaninov and Scriabin. But was brought up on 80's metal :hairmetal: and still very fond of 70's rock - Led Zep and Rush are my faves.
This is my current system -
Pioneer PL-71 & Nagaoka MP-50
Pure Sound P10 phono stage
Consonance CD-120L
Audio Note M-Zero pre
Quad 405-II power
A&R T21 tuner
Chario Academy II's

Hi Julian, welcome to AoS fella :) I have a pair of slightly modified 405s, though they are the MK1 version - still sound very nice though...
Doesn't matter what you listen to, i think you'll find most members here have a rather broad music taste.
Hope you enjoy your stay, all the best

Hi Julian
Welcome to AoS it's great to have you here.
A taste in music that stretches across the points between Ravel to Randy Rhoads can't be a bad thing! System piccies in the gallery next?
Cheers

hi Chris,
Yes, will do system pix for sure but not just yet, as fingers crossed there will be a new addition to the family on Thursday - the PL-71 will have a new contender for the heavy-weight turntable crown of North London - step into the ring The Source :youtheman:
cheers,
J

No, I was too impatient to wait for one to turn up! But I have a lead on one that might be available next year ...
Managed to acquire an ex-dem Kuzma Stogi for a very, very good price and just couldn't resist. It should suit the Source very well. Going to get the arm mounted on Thursday and my MP-50 swapped over from the PL-71, then I'll see which deck is going to stay!

Welcome to AOS
You are indeed a lucky man. I have only seen Ozzy with Zakk Wylde (in his youth) who was very impressive, but would just love to have seen Jake E. Lee and of course, Randy.

Hi Tarzan - I can thoroughly recommend the Consonance. It is a very sweet sounding cdp. I don't listen to it that much, such is my vinyl habit, but I never find it lacking in any way. Their more expensive cd players are highly recommended - the Reference 2.3 and the Droplet - and are much better looking, but I have no plans to upgrade mine. Got it for a bargaintastic £250 off ebay! :champagne:
Hi Julian and welcome to AoS. You have a nice taste for fine front end gear :)
