Hi I'm Paul from Northamptonshire and though I actually joined ages ago I don't think I've posted anything yet:doh:

Long standing member at Wigwam, Zerogain, PFM etc so thought I'd complete the 'hi-fi forum' set;)

System comprises of:

CD - Wadia 581iSE
Vinyl - Scheu-Analog Diamond, Rega RB1000, Transfiguration Temper V
Phonostage - EAR 834P Deluxe
Amp - Perreaux 200ip
Speakers: Revel Ultima Gem

Listen to a wide range of weird and wonderful stuff - from 80's Indie (Smiths, Cure, Pixies etc), modern prog/rock type stuff (Porcupine Tree, Pineapple Thief etc) to Folk, Country and Americana.

I don't do mainstream pop / classic rock (no Beatles, Led Zep, Stones, Who etc), nor dance, disco, classical, jazz, opera, or weird experimental instrumental crap:rolleyes:.

I guess over the last 10 years or so I have mellowed and particularly like female singer songwriters like Krista Detor, Kathleen Edwards, Kasey Chambers, Brandi Carlile, Aimee Mann etc.

Welcome to AoS! Your musical tastes are much the same as mine. I am a big cure fan and have a soft spot for the smiths. Not heard of the modern prog/rock groups you mention, perhaps you can recommend a starting point, an album perhaps.

Hope you have fun on the forum. I've seen your system pics, it looks really tidy; elegent is the word.

Well I'd have to recommend 'Porcupine Tree - In Absentia' - imo an album that everyone should own.:)

It's a real favourite on hifiwigwam and also a damn good test of your systems dynamics.
