SD HC Picture card, recommendations?

Calling all photographers in the know..... I currently use a Transcend SD HC 16GB picture card in my new Panasonic Lumix Ditigital Camera, recently bought and the forementioned card was to get me up and running and it did not cost me loads of money! I'm not a pro photographer or a clued up advanced hobbist as far as taking pictures but I'm sure that there is a better quality pic card out there? I use a Panasonic Lumix FZ45 which does me as I only want to take snaps on the run and on hols. Got fed up with lunking an analogue SLR, seperate flash gun, roll film accompanied by a video camera, rather bulky now a days :(

Thanks for your recommendations and its nice to talk photography instead of Hi Fi for a change :)

One of the cards I use is a Sony memory stick pro-hg duo. This gives good results. Cost around £18-20 8gb. But have also used the Transcend 16gb mentioned by yourself and have found it to be almost as good as the Sony. Cost approx. £14 off ebay.

If the 16GB card is large enough capacity ( it should be) then not really much point in buying another unless you need more storage space.

Beware of cheap prices on ebay etc as there are many fake cards that are not the claimed brand, capacity or speed rating.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated :) I bought my SD card from Amazon at the same time as buying my Camera so I would imagine the card is not a fake, its just my old camera (now the wife's possession by outright thievery), an old Fuji FinePix F810 seams to take sharper (better) pictures, its the camera that has done alot of travelling and mileage.

I guess I should get the manual out and read up on my new camera's options ;) but as I said, I'm not a photographer more an enthusiastic look, point and shoot old codger.

Fake cards get into the supply chain early on, Amazon like all vendors have suffered.

The only reason for a "better" card would be if you are using high fps (unlikely with your camera), otherwise if the card you have is fine then stick with it or simply get a bigger well priced one.

The transcends are as good as anything, including Sandisk and other premium prices brands.
