"Victoria Tube station staff have been told they cannot help visually-impaired people (VIPs) to platforms at peak times during the station's renovation.
A leaked document advised the London workers not to provide assistance when a one-way escalator was in operation."

This will attract publicity and the decision will probably be recinded; what concerns me is the tens of thousands of elderly and infirm denied home help by cash strapped councils. They have no one to speak for them, they are condemned to a miserable existence for the sake of a few pounds.
