A quick hello here... I'm an analogue enthusiast, part time dance music producer and ex Technics tt user. My current tt is a Garrard 401, but it's a work in progress. Nice to be here!
:)

Hi Pete, glad you've found us. I've also got a 401 - been a work in progress for 20 years - best to take your time with these things! Assuming you like dance music, any particular favourites, or other types of music you like?

Hope you enjoy the forum and welcome, :)

Welcome :)

Have a look in the library here for a fascinating article about the 401 and the main bearing especially. Appears that the intention was for broadcasters to leave the deck running 24/7.....

Thanks, Shane, but unfortunately I can't seem to open that link...

It comes up with a message along the lines of "Windows can't open that page, as it needs a program to open it - do you want to search the Internet for a program to open it?", or words to that effect.

As I know bugger all about what program I should be searching for, I haven't got a scooby-doo what to do now, so I guess I'll have to leave it :(

Unless you or anyone else can help?

Marco.

You need a pdf reader, such as Acrobat Marco. Works for me.

Hi Mark,

I've got Adobe installed, but in order to view that particular file, I had to download the 'PSE' version of Adobe, or some such. I've never had to do that before... Anyway, I can see it now.

Is the relevant file only one page of an old book (p21), which is incomplete? That's all I'm getting.

Marco.

Should be 5 pages, Marco... 21 - 25... of an old book! ;)

Got it sorted now. The problem was that my laptop had gone in recently to get fixed, and the memory had to be wiped, so I lost all my Adobe stuff, which I only realised now was gone when I need to use it to access that file....

Bloody computers!! ;)
