Hello My name is Jonty Hobson, I live in Poole Dorset Uk. I am orginally from Cape Town SA, Moved here when I was 16, which is a long time ago.

I work for a Company called Sony you may have heard of them? ;)

I have always been a big concert go-er all my life but only bought some audio gear about 15 years ago.

About 4 years ago I had an extension built on the house and we made it a Home Cinema/Music/play room. My wife plays Guitar and Ukelele.
One of the walls has out 800+ cd collection plus some films and music videos etc.

I use a Meridian G68 Processor and a Sony BD player for disc spinning duties (CD/DVD/BR) attached to the Meridian. I have 3 x DSP5200 speakers across the front and as of 3 weeks ago I have 4 DSP3200 acros the back/side.

I big Beamax drop down screen for film duties and a Panasonic AE4000 PJ.

So there you have it.

Oooh another AV person through the gate :) Welcome to AoS Jonty, that's a rather nice set of seven speakers you have there - must be a decent job you have, well done :eyebrows:

If i'm not mistaken that would be one of the newer Panasonic projectors, also very nice...

All the best & i hope you enjoy your stay

The Panasonic AE4000 is an LCD PJ that even out of the box has a very neutral colour palette. I had a professional calibration and the standard setting are remarkably very close to the calibrated ones.

The speakers are fabulous and as accurate as I can imagine after the dsp sweep and set up. All in all I am very very pleased with the output both music and films.

Thank you for your kind greetings.

My system is not just an AV system, it is a fabulous music system. The Av bit is also fabulous.

The G68 is a grea design and the software that runs it is also excellent

Likewise Jonty, I did things a little differently though ;) I let the BD & DVD players decode the audio & feed into an Audio Research Corp MP1 pre amp..

You'll find allsorts here chap, no way is wrong at the end of the day! I'm pretty sure i have allocated more for music reproduction though money wise as it's my priority still at the end of the day :)
