Some images of our new kitten, a ginger tom, called Emrys. He's 9 weeks old, and a right wee scamp!

And our beautiful big girl now, Abella, the 'leggy princess' (she’s only 1 and a half, and the size of a small lion!)

Lol - defo, Dom! Torties are gorgeous :)

And yes, Chris (and Dave), he is a handful, but huge fun. He's a right little rascal (so cute) and chases the girl cats around the house - well he is a boy, and he's not been 'done' yet!

Little does he know, though, that they have!! :eyebrows:

Just wait until he's six months old or so and starting to "swagger" before considering him for "the op." Our Titchpuss never lost his "Catitude" and was a very dear friend and companion, as well as boss to Ollie, who remained the "baby" of the pair.. My Gawd I miss 'em so :wah: :(

I know, but we can't for various reasons at the moment. Anyway, Mungo fron next door would get the hump - we're "The Annexe" and he comes by to keep us in check at least once a day. I'd go mad if he didn't...

Lovely Marco, as you know I like cats. I still have Callie (12 now) and our neighbour has four cats, who always come and say hello!

He's a beauty Marco!

Doubly sad for me though, as we had to have our cat put down just over a month ago due to an inoperable tumour in his jaw. I thought I'd got over it but Mrs. B is working in America for two weeks at the moment and I've been amazed at how the house feels so horribly empty and quiet with just me in it. :(

Marco
11-10-2011, 12:40
Cheers, guys... He's such a lovely furry wee thing, with a great temperament. Being a completely feral stray, we were expecting him to be rather nervous and shy (not to mention wild), but he's the complete opposite! :)

Despite having the run of the whole house - and in our old lodge there are 100s of nooks and crannies to hide, he prefers to come and sit on the settee and on our laps (his snuggled in beside me as I'm typing this on the laptop, purring away), which is just lovely..... And the tiny little tot that he is, he's bossing the other cats around. It was really funny last night watching this little ball of fluff chase Abella (who's about 5 times his size) around the house!

And so far, he's not destructive at all, although we'll see what he makes of the Christmas tree, when he's introduced to that later in the year.... None of our antique decorations or hand-blown glass baubles will be going out, that's for sure! :eyebrows:

Adam and Dave, I'm sorry to hear that you're missing your cats. I know how it feels, and it's not good. Neither Del or I could ever imagine our house without cats in it, so we'll make sure that there will always be some around and support the Cat Protection League, as much as we can, and give cats a home who need one

I couldn't agree more. We haven't invested in a new cat so far as we're (attempting!) to buy a new house at the moment. Rest assured, though, when we move, one of the first additions to the new place will be a feline presence.

P.S. - Here's the old fella a few months back. RIP Jack!

Adam & Marco, so glad you fellas also like our feline friends, as so many men don't...

When we had to take Ollie to the vet's for the last time, we walked back and the house seemed to echo more, it was so empty. I can't explain it, but having a little purring presence around and about just helps - I'm sure they like to spread their auras around "their" territory.

Marco, don't you worry about little Emrys - he's found his "home" and I bet he'll be forever grateful for it, and you two taking him in :)

Hi Natalie here, this is our latest edition. She's called Coco and has just turned 4 months old. However, when we took the pic she was approx 9 wks old. She is the runt of a five litter bunch, sadly their mum was killed when she was 3 wks old and they were all hand reared and they have all survived and are spoiled rotten. Coco is the tiniest kitten we have had and she is just adorable. She will go to anyone and I think she believe she is a human. She is a little bully with the other three and they are all three times bigger than her. Marco, your little ginger tom is absolutely gorgeous.

Have to admit I never had much time for cats. When i was a kid, my mum used to keep an old fairy liquid bottle full of water which she would spray at any cats unfortunate enough to stray onto her prized garden. (she has this psychopathic streak in her :() But since the missus got little (or big being the operative word) ol Charlie, i've kind of fallen in love with him and can't imagine life without him now, he's such a character, he just cracks me up  Animals are much more loving and fun than most humans, or at least that's what i've found anyways

The missus and me had an orange tabby once. Best we ever had; so mellow and laid back. Yet, he would play fetch and would eat popcorn with us while watching a movie. "Broadway", not as in NYC, though. We got him from a lady in front of "Broadway Liquors". He hid his drinking problem from us pretty well. Miss the guy. :(

Enjoy your new addition!!

Apologies for digging this thread up from the dusty archives, but I had to tell someone!

This evening, Mrs B. and I are going to our local Blue Cross animal rescue centre for a "re-homing interview". If all goes well, Polly and Pippin, who are a pair of 16 week old kittens, will be coming home with us on Sunday!

:yay:

Apologies for lack of pictures at the moment - we were so busy playing with them when we met them last weekend, we forgot to take any!

Dominic Harper
01-02-2012, 11:29
Ahhh Adam I hope you get them both and I look forward to seeing a pic of them. We have a 9 month old kitten called Co-co and she is just the business. We absolutely love her to bits. She was the runt from a litter of 5 and her mum was sadly killed when they were 3 weeks old. Each one was hand reared by my friend and I and they all survived. The first person Co-co saw was me, so she really believe I'm her mum lololololol. She is not afraid of anyone which is a little worrying, but she is afraid of cars which I am glad about. In fact all 4 of my cats are scared of cars thankfully, so none of them go near any main roads. Not that we have any major busy roads near were we live. I hope you get them and that they bring you lots of pleasure. Your vinyl will be taking a back seat because of the serious competition :):):):):):)

Cheers Natalie;)

Update:

Pippin wouldn't leave his wound from being neutered alone and so he has been kept in longer to make sure this healed - he was also made to wear the 'collar of shame' to keep him away from it! Collection was re-scheduled for tommorrow.

However, about an hour ago I had a phone call from the centre to say that his scar is now infected, he's on antibiotics and so he won't be released until he's seen the vet next Tuesday.

Add this to my impressively bloodshot left eye which has appeared from nowhere, plus our lovely Siemens Porsche kettle that I dropped and broke last night and it's not been a good couple of days!

:(

Not so long ago I was offered a collection of LP's but when I went to see them, to my utter dismay the spines of the sleeves were totally destroyed by cats claws. Put me right off the whole thing. Shame really as there were some good albums there.
None of my animals come into my "cave" except for the big fella and he just plonks himself down on the floor. It also doubles as the spare room and my son is allergic to cats (we have three or four) so he has to take anthistamine and steroids when he comes to stay but he is safe in the den as it is and always has been cat free. Pity really as he likes them. All the dogs don't bother him, just the cats.

Dominic Harper
26-02-2012, 14:58
As long as he takes the meds for his allergy he should be fine to be around them. I had a bit of an allergy to cat and dog fur, they call it dander, you know when it all gathers together like a ball of wool. But to be honest, I haven't been bothered by it since I got the first cat, very strange. I love both dogs and cats, some people say they are cat people and others say they prefer dogs. I love both. How many dogs have you got?
