View Full Version : Speaker swaps - Ruark Epilogues

I thought earlier in the year a house move would be imminent, so I sold my Dali Suites and bought a pair of Ruark Epilogues as an interim pair until the home move was complete, then I would by a pair more suitable to the new listening room dimensions.

These little Ruark's do a pretty good job in my current listening room but in pure truth they don't seem to be able to "fill" such a large room volume. This is probably because the small bass drivers can't shift enough air to satisfy my needs - especially after the Dalis which were very much at home. In all probability the Ruarks will be a perfect match in my new home, but the sale of our current house is dragging on and it could be months yet before we move.

I don't really want the grief and aggravation of listing then on ebay and paying the fees for the privilege, then hunting for something else.

So, I am putting the feelers out to see if anyone is willing to do a swap. Floorstanders would be OK, or standmounts with a 6" plus bass driver.

They are in excellent unmarked condition in a nice Rosewood finish, apart from one of the grille mounting pegs which is broken - the grille stay put OK

Value is around the £75 mark

Ruarks are great speakers, very well built and quality finish, I owned a pair of Prologue 2, wish I had kept them now.

Buy with confidence.

Lovely speakers had a pair myself long time ago.

Good luck with the sale/swap Frank.

Let me expand on my intentions; I do not want to sell these speakers, I would like a swap for another pair of speakers of roughly equivalent value, with a larger bass unit as either another standmount or floorstander.

I only put the figure of £75 as a guide for their worth for the exchange/swap. I might relent and sell though if nobody wants to do a trade.

Well blow me down, the day after I put this advert on AOS the house has sold

So, I will keep these little Ruarks for a little while longer until we move, then I will have a think whether to keep them or not. Mind you, my listening room is going to shrink dramatically in the next couple of weeks with piles of boxes it seems :unfair:
