Oops - "dental" repair for chipped kit

My daughter managed to drop her Kindle on the floor very recently. It still works, but now there is a slight chip on the corner. Are there any obvious fixes for kit which gets chipped or scratched?

There used to be products like Plastic Wood or Araldite, which, in the right circumstances can be used to do fairly good cosmetic fixes. Maybe nobody bothers these days, but I'm sure there must be some form of plastic based substance which could do a reasonable job in this case. After all, if dentists can fix teeth, we should be able to do things like this.

You might try using some Isopon P38 or similar car body repair paste. I'd suggest mixing in something to get it to the correct sort of colour though ;)

In fact i reckon the epoxy resin adhesive with some coloured powder would possibly be even better :) It dries very hard indeed...

A good epoxy resin here is Milliput. They do different colours inc. black.

Just revisiting this thread as now have a black unit which I'd like to renovate. Sony MD deck with plastic facia, bought as an "experiment", and part of it is badly scratched. I thought I'd give it a whirl with a small tube of black Milliput, as suggested earlier. Has anyone else ever attempted similar things?

How long does it take to set? Is it fluid for a few minutes - or perhaps an hour, or more. I'm prepared to have to polish it down afterwards. I'm assuming I can't make things worse than they are, but I could be wrong!
