The height of American corporate greed and political corruption. If you haven't heard anything about this... it's because they don't want you to.
The news media is blacking out the protests. I wonder why? Currently, it seems like youtube.com is still the only place to find out what's really going on.

Thankfully, most of the week long, and still going protest has been peaceful and not without it's share of police supporters (whose pention funds have also been hit by corporate greed). I just learned there are like minded protests going on in several other US cities which our lovely government/corporations are doing there best to keep quiet. Time to turn up the heat, I say.

I have never been more disgusted with the way "the system" works in my country than I am right now. And, I've been disgusted for a long, long time. The older man toward the end of this video is absolutely right. If it had been me who had done this, I would have already been put UNDER the jail.

The problem is is that Capitalism has killed democracy, I'm pretty sure that some old socialist/communist said this would happen way back in the 20th century. Imo he was right :(
While big multinational corporations buy up smaller companies or force them out of business by lowering prices locally so the other goes bust & then increasing them when they have a stranglehold.
These same big businesses have the ear of the politicians simply because they have the money & power & lobbying power. I reckon that those up top can see this to, so what I think is happening is they are thinking 'stuff this, it's all bu**ered anyway so I'll have some of that while the going is good & nuts to everyone else'..

So if you follow the logic the biggest businesses get bigger & eventually they'll damn near own countries & at that point you'll effectively get a dictatorship, maybe a dictatorship with different figureheads every few years but what the heck. It'll be the multinationals in control behind the puppets.
Anyone notice how Angela Merkel & Nicholas Teakosy installed puppet governments responcible only to the EU heads in Italy & Greece? Also how they threatened the UK by attempting to make sure that the people of this country never get a referendum?

It will be interesting to see (probably not in my lifetime) just how long the ones with a money interest in government and corporation power can get away with it for given the ease with which we can all communicate.
Its hardly a wonder that governments want to control communications but it is just possible they've left it too late.
It’s all very well having money while the system can support it but it seems even the people with serious money cant keep the system running smoothly.
What happens when your money is worth bugger all and people won’t accept it?
It would be nice to believe that the people with manual skills and those who can actually contribute to the economy lot improved; somehow I doubt it though.
Always baffled me how those who can do the least in social and practical terms seem to get the greatest reward.

Have you seen the film Soylent Green? I can see it happening, it's heading there very fast indeed if you think about it carefully :doh: Oceans with no fish due to overfishing, no life due to acidity increases (it's increasing quite quickly) & if the life in the oceans die then everything on the land will :mental:
You know I'm sorry to say that I brought a son into this world, I really am :eyebrows:

I'm positive they don't give a crap. But, human nature usually means the discontents come for the gated communities first. ;) And, here in the US, we're armed to the teeth. The poorest man can obtain firepower, probably with relative ease.
I feel like I'm living in a movie. Yet, I know we haven't seen the worst yet, not even close. Even with all we've seen, the pot is only simmering. Right now, we're kind of in a Martin Luther King, Jr. phase. We have yet seen the other side; the "by any means necessary crowd". They are out there. I don't know where their breaking point is; but, when the reach it... It will be a bad seen. I think it will be far worse than anything we've seen before.
There are certain events that need to happen to trigger such chaos. Sometimes, I think those events are quite near.

I wouldn't be so quick to buy into that 'ocean acidity' guff, Mark. That's just the replacement lie for the catastrophic climate change scam as that has now lost all credibilty with the punters.

Our president was involved in starting the Muslim uprising just as he has been involved though wealthy financiers in starting the occupy wall street.
This was to shift intrest from a real grass roots movement the Tea Party.
This is about more than greed it is about about doing what he hinted at his vision for change.

He has talked about a civilian army under the president equal to the U.S. army.
I know a lot of leftest groups have moved tons of money in organizing this and there demands are right out of the Communist Manifesto but that is just what you would expect from a student of Saul Alinsky.
Goerge Sorose has funded this through several front groups the biggest one is the Tides foundation.
All the info was disclosed in IRS records and easily confirmed.

I don't believe he knew what he would start.Or worse he did.
The Brother hood started AlQita and Hamas and this will end badly for the world.

From the way you describe it, Obama is one all powerful badass dude. The only problem with that line of logic is that it's wrong. Hate to be blunt. He's no saint, neither was Bush (or Clinton, etc); but, the Obama hate wagon is a waste of time for many reasons. The most important of which starts with the "545". I'm sure you know what that stands for. 545 vs. the rest of the US citizenry. Think about it. ;)

To be fair it is no less an issue than in the UK, albeit with not quite the same powerful media hysteria or rampant paranoia to contend with.....
Obama is not powerful,the office he holds is.
You only have to look at who the mans heroes are and ask why would his Theseus or any major paper he wrote in collage be sealed ?
The man spent 40 years in a church known to be anti U.S. with regular attendance, his wife said " electing her husband was the first time she has ever been proud of our country". His inauguration and speeches in it was a direct finger flown at white americans that elected him.
The first speaches he made where all to the Arab world appoligizing for the U.S.
I don't hate the man but loath his politics.
He simply campaigned well and got foreign backing,and ran with the full help of a very liberal media behind him.
You are lucky now to meet 2 or 3 people that will even admit to voting for him.
The U.S. needs your equivalent of Winston Churchill as our next leader, a man I respect more every time I learn more about him.
