Hi,
After several mounts, I'am not so happy whit my DL-103sa. I have no deepth, and also not a great "picture" as you now what I mine. I found also the stereo "flat". So I want maybe another, but witch is optimal for my Eminent 2-"air" arm. In the past I have a dynavector d17, but in another arm, but that was a great perfomance. Is the dynaverctor DV20x2L, like MartinT have mutch better than the denon dl-103sa?
Thanks, Mart10

Are you sure that the cartridge is the issue?

I've got a Dynavector Ruby among my cartridges, but I find it very understated in its presentation, very 'matter of fact', overly 'considered'; there seems to be an element of this with all of their cartridges.

My experience of the earlier "mk1" 20 series a few years ago were that they had a slightly more "lush" quality than the 17D series and were a tad "free-er" than the highly disciplined 10X IV and V models. I believe MartinT has tried the new one and had similar results????? I was told that the main reason for changing or updating the models is for price increases as much as anything and this may explain why the Denon 103 is still inexpensive after all these decades, where the 10X, which used to be similarly priced, is now nigh on three times the price.

The DL103 is a pretty tough old cookie and should be pretty durable. I'd get the diamond checked for cleanliness as any crunge stuck on it will drastically affect the sound and tracking ability in general. I've resuscitated one or two of my old codgers purely by giving the diamond a darned good scrubbing with AT607? cleaning fluid..
