Not so cryptic Bryston BP26/4B SST2 finally replacing Pink Triangle Pip 2 (Three box) and good old Threshold S200. I've gone balanced unlike my general state.

Mostly I'll be playing Captain,Fela and that new girl Laura.

Fela Kuti - good taste! Excellently funky music, much under appreciated by those who should know better!

As for the other two... Captain Sensible and Laura Nyro... :ner: I'm guessing I'm wrong on both counts. The new girl Laura may be the next big thing, but Ms Nyro has my heart!

<snip> and good old Threshold S200.
Lovely bit of kit, always wanted one but unfortunately for me the opportunity has never arisen

Yes indeed, Nelson Pass can do no wrong in my book. Together with John Curl, one of the pre-eminent solid state designers.

Sorry for confusion. Captain = Beefheart (And his Magic Band) I share the opinion of Matt Groening(Simpsons originator) that Trout Mask Replica is one of the greatest rcords ever. I still have my original double vinyl copy with the price in old money (65 shillings) from 1970.

Although I also love Nora Lino as we used to title her and will hear nothing against Eli and the thirteenth confession, the Laura who is captivating my ears currently is Laura Marling, junior queen of new folk. Her second album "I speak because I can" is a gem.

Steve (Mr Guitar) Miller is never far from my turntable (or even that modern apparatus known as CDP - but I'm not a great fan of 16bit/44.1Mhz). He and Fela are by far the largest ib quantity in my software colection. Love of Fela comes from time spent in Nigeria in the 70's.

Agreed. It was given to me as present in the mid 80's and shipped from USA.

I recently contacted Nelson and asked what long term maintenance I should take and he said just check and replace any old out of spec. capacitors. That is currently being done and I may be selling it afterwards as the hi-fi sinking sund has sunk. I have too many amplifiers - great joy.

Yes, and dont forget the reclusive Owen Jones of Pink Triangle fame. That man knows how to design amplifiers.
