View Full Version : Any Interest?
Hi Guys,
For anyone looking for music file storage with a few 'bells and whistles' you might find this of interest: -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1080P-3-5-LAN-....=item19b8c433c3
I'd be interested in the opinions of anyone more knowledgeable on such things. Note it does not include the HDD.
Dave.
Sorry about that  - try this: -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1080P-3-5-LAN-HDD-Player-H-264-MKV-HDMI-1-3-DTS-HOST-/110474048451?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_DVDPla yers_Recorders&hash=item19b8c433c3
and if that doesn't work, its item no. 110474048451 on eBay :)
His feedback, at 98.5%, could be better though.
Dave.
In my opinion you'd be better off with a simple NAS, and then look for a 'player' separately (if you actually need one), keep it simple and modular...in the same way as you would with your hi-fi components... :)

Looks broadly similar to the Tvix, but at that price cheap enough if your requirement is mainly video, which is it's target audience.
The Tvix is known. There is much on other forums, and Tvix has a dealer network.
I gave my Tvix to my daughter after about 18 months of faithfull service and built a HTPC. She is happy. I am happier.

I use the WDTV live myself with a bank of networked 2tb drives.
One day my NAS will come.

Me too, though with just the one 2TB HDD via USB. :)
I wouldn't get one simply because I do not need one. i looked at a similar unit from Sony, but without the drive but it didn't play FLAC so that was a no-no.
I think the PS3 is very good as a streamer, and I know someone here wno has a fantastic system based on one plus you get a blu-ray in there too!

Be prepared to pay £15 'Customs admin charge' plus VAT on it when it enters the country!

I thought it was £8.00 Nick, i have been caught so many times with stuff from the USA. Never from the far east though ;)
You'll have to pay VAT on anything over £18 in value as that is the break point & possibly import duties to, not sure how much they are though on anything over about £150 in value..
Jeez
6000 posts, i need a life :eyebrows:
