HI Peeps
Legalhippy here (bit of a story), found this site when looking for ideas on Phono Stages - then buying an Angle Audio one (see the thread started by user Keiths)
I am an out and out music fan, something of a vinyl junkie with an eclectic taste. I just like it all to sound as good as possible for a relatively modest budget.
Run down of equipment
Amp - Primare A30.1 ?(okay, that wasn't all that cheap)
CD Player - Shanling CD-T80
DAC - Xindak DAC 5
Turntable: Audionote TT1
Tone Arm: RB300 - with silver litz cable upgrade and Michell Weight
Cartridge: Denon DL-304 (before it became expensive)
Phono Stage - Trichord Dino w/ Dino+ and High performance power lead
Testing out an Angle Audio Audiophile unit with Virtual Battery (not overly impressed so far)
Interconnects: AG Audio Silver (ebay seller)
Speaker Cable and Power Leads - Sinclair Acoustics
That's about it for a start off

Hi Michael
Welcome to AOS
Can you tell us more about your music taste
My music taste can only be described as eclectic.
It's probably easier to state what I am not into, I can't stand Country and Western (HIDEOUS NOISE) and am really not into inane pop and R&B as it is tedious and boring.
Favourite artists do include the following (and this should give weight to the eclectic).
Pink Floyd
Bjork
Tori Amos
Kate Bush
Sex Pistols
Ramones
Buzzcocks
Smetana, Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky (classical Composers)
Kinks
Hendrix
All About Eve
The Beat
Specials
The Cure
Cream
13th Floor Elevators
Radiohead
The Clash
Bob Marley
Peter Tosh
Lee 'Scratch' Perry
King Tubby
Black Sabbath
Love
Prodigy
Portishead
Massive Attack
DJ Shadow
Goldfrapp
Is that enough to be going on with?
Said it was eclectic, and yes that is word of the week ;)

Hi Michael, it'd be rude of me not to welcome you after asking you to introduce yourself - so welcome to AoS ;)
Eclectic, yes i'd say so to, though i can go from Abba to The Exploited depending on my mood :eyebrows: All the best & i hope you enjoy your stay with us!

Exploited, yep forgot them and a few others but I do draw the line at Abba. Great musicians (have you ever tried to play some of their stuff in the key they did it) but not my bag.
Each to our own though eh!?!
Michael,
Have you been looking at my record collection? There's a lot of overlap!
Yes, that's good enough to be "going on with". :)
Regards
Welcome from me... :)
Is the Angle Audio stage getting any better, or is the side-by-side comparison still the same.. I do remember the Dino fondly, but only an early example with standard power supply some years ago.
Speaker cables as speakers?:eyebrows:
Clever, never thought of that one.
Oh welcome by the way:lolsign:
Good waste taste in music Michael

Unbelievable that I forgot the speakers. They are Tannoy 611, modified with Eichmann terminals.

The Angle is showing good signs so far and is probably on a par with the Dino Mk 1 with a standard wall wart. I will be giving it a bit longer to see if it does suddenly come alive. Lots of playing over the weekend.
Verdict so far is talented but not brilliant
