CD Player Info

Hello,
I was just hoping to get some information about a 5 disc CD changer I've recently come into ownership of. The unit is a C.D.C. CH 5000 CD player. I can't find any info on the model or the brand C.D.C. Have any of you heard of this brand, & if so, are/were they of quality? Just for the record, I am pretty happy with the player.
Any information about this player would be appreciated.

Where was the unit made? (OK, yeah, probably China!) - I've never heard of CDC here in the UK - is it a local Australian brand?

Well, it's actually made in Japan, which was to my surprise, & all I know is that it is infact a Japanese brand. But that's it. It's quite frustrating because I'm very keen to find out all there is to know about it, as I do with all gear I have/had. I am very happy with it though. It's soldiering on nicely. 18 bit 4 times oversampling digital filter & linear high speed dual d/a converter (which, I will admit, isn't really anything new but I thought I'd mention it).

You may just have to try some Googling around, as many of these sort of players all share a common donor model which is then customised.

Yes, I've been doing extensive googling & have managed to come up with absolutely nothing. But I'm assuming it's just sharing a donor model as well, particularly because the brand doesn't seem to be very popular or even well-known at all. Pretty mysterious brand.

Just a suggestion, but it often helps to try a different search engine - Google is not the only game in town. Altavista often throws up different results for example.

Good grief, I had no idea that was still going! I used to use that in the 80's prior to Google...... I thought it had died in the 80's :scratch: ...... well I never, thanks Chris

I used to use the internet to gain commercial advantage in a previous business that I was involved in, so these tricks paid off. It uses what's now considered to be old school logic - but sometimes it just pays off to give it a whirl. There are other search engines too!
The only problem with Altavista is that it can be tricky to know what you've already looked at because it doesn't change the colour of used links - I used to keep a log when doing serious searches.

There are also tools such as Copernic, which I used to find very good, and there are other tools, e.g dogpile.com which do multiple searches.

WebFerret was another one which sometimes gave good results.

OK, so, I've managed to get a hold of 2 more C.D.C. CD players (totalling to 3 now) & I have managed to find out that it's a Japanese company called Chuo Denki Co. Ltd. (yeah, I've never heard of it either). Just thought I'd let you know.
