When Vista was in beta I set up a machine for the staff to try out and play with. I can tell you that it was so unpopular it fell into disuse. That told me most of what I needed to know. I bypassed it - never rolled it out - and jumped straight to Windows 7. It's been deployed for a good while now and I have mostly very happy staff with far fewer support issues than XP.

Mine's Vista too, but I've tweaked a lot of the settings so all of that System Administrator stuff doesn't come up and ask you to confirm 40 times before you move a file etc, and fingers crossed I've not had any issues since then....

God, how i wish i could say i saw that aurora :eyebrows: No not mine... I have no idea where it was taken from, but if you find Polaris you'll notice that it's not very high above the horizon, in fact it's much lower than it would be viewed from the UK :scratch: Wherever it was taken was more southerly than the UK is all i can tell you...

Definate oddness, but true. Someone had a hell of a light show :rave:

Ok, here's another... I have 50 different pictures loaded into Wallmaster as i'm using the free version :eyebrows: However it's easy peasy to set up loads of other blocks of 50 pics & load them up for a change.

Wall master can roll through all the pics on a time setting so you get a different pic every so often, i generally leave it set to one though as i'm on the net & don't tend to look at them very much :doh:

If anyone noticed the red warning bar for memory on our Exchange server, I had just recently upgraded it from 16GB to 24GB RAM. I now have another 8GB on order to put it up to 32GB. It's all those Outlook Web App users logging in simultaneously. The 2,707 messages sent per second gives some idea of how busy it is during the day.

Suse rocks for me. Has used it for many years. Slackware is on my other box, might be my favorite distro.

Conky is fun, and you can do mostly anything with it. If you love tinkering that is the tool. :)

Now that's interesting - I had always assumed the 'missing mass' was contained in the, rather stodgy and heavy, sponge pudding they used to serve in our canteen. One of my collegues was rather fond of this confection, so he must have eaten it all. Might explain why space-time seemed to 'warp' around him.

This is the nice new shiny Mint 12. I have only just installed it but it looks great from an ergonomic pov, and this is one of the built in desktop backgrounds.
