Big welcome Raj, now why'd ya go and buy a Tekko 1200 for? it will keep you awake at night and make you into a 'fiddle with this and fiddle with that man', it did for me. Have fun and you will learn alot from this here forum.

SO where do I start with asking questions ....

Do you mean, "what questions do I ask", or do you mean "where do I post questions about the 1210"?

In the first case, think about those aspects of the 1210 you think might be improved: change of mat; use of a record clamp; changing the arm or headshell etc. and then simply post you enquiries under the appropriate section: “Analogue Art”.

There are many here with a wealth of experience of these turntables, all of whom I’m sure would be ready and willing to give you advice and the benefit of their experience.

What cartridge do you intend using with the Technics?

Hi, well, just bought this last week (well the mrs did for my 41st) I've returned it back to full stock mod. Stripped it back right down to completely disassembling the whole chassis and electronics. Cleaning EVERY single component. Then re-greasing/oiling the relevant parts and fully assembling the deck back together.

I bought the deck as a pair with another Pinkfisher. These have both had a very easy life as an unused bedroom DJ pair that’ve had very little use – so good un’s :)

This way I've learnt a lot about the deck, how it works and what I'm capable of doing to it.

The MK3D has quite a different power supply in comparison to the MK2. Very different in fact.


TBH after the full service and return to stock mode i could quite happily live with it as it is.

I've got my eye on a Grado Gold Prestige 1 cart ATM..
