Inspired by Chris (The Grand Wazoo) posting in the Spinning Today thread - he'd already got his Sunday morning selection ready when he went to bed...

Dexter Gordon - I Guess I'll Hang My Tears Out to Dry (http://open.spotify.com/track/58ylMBq2yqYdHyevarkNWa)

So - time for another collaborative Spotify playlist methinks - What's your favourite Sunday morning tune?

Sweet - Turn it Down :eyebrows:

On a more serious note, when Sweet weren't churning out chart toppers, they were actually a pretty good band. I used to buy their singles for the B sides, which were totally different and largely metal songs. Just listen to the Rickenbacker bass on this (Steve Priest I think).

(I don't have any Sunday morning sounds I'm afraid)

Usually something I can let was over me without too much concentration. Something like some Gregorian chant or early Baroque.

The big problem I have these days is with the concept of 'morning'. I've heard people talk of such things - what are mornings?

A morning is when everybody else sleeps and I can listen quietly to music alone. ;)

but seriously, apart from Sunday themed songs, I love a bit of Nick Drake or John Martyn on a Sunday morning.

Thanks Dan - I've put those on the list, and also added a Frank Sinatra track - often have a bit of a crooners sesh on a Sunday...

Seconded.

"Own Up, Take A Look At Yourself" (available again on the "Desolation Boulevard" reissue) would be my recommendation.

All' Improvviso - Christina Pluhar

This is just superb Spanish-tinged European music played on a range of bizarre instruments by Pluhar and her excellent band. Stunning recording, too.

Well you've listed 2 of my top 10 bands of all time, so thank you Pete! From my point of view, I couldn't just restrict Air or Zero 7 (Lemon Jelly either, for that matter) to Sunday morning, though I will very gladly add them to the playlist! ;)

Just noticed the Spotify Playlist (http://open.spotify.com/user/alex_steel1969/playlist/2Ln9pgsL5Rq2Bk4QLrGsFm) for this - looks a little short for a Sunday morning to me (well, when you have a 6 week old baby mornings are VERY long!!!) - any of our newer members like to help out with some more Sunday morning track suggestions? :)

Just had a quick dekko and I think it's missing some Lighthouse Family, perfect for Sunday mornings. How about High?
