View Full Version : Music in Berlin
I've just returned from a short trip to Berlin. First, I found a large Saturn store in Alexanderplatz that had a superb selection of CDs, although their prices were a little steep compared with the UK.
Then I found a shop called City Music near Kurfurstenstrasse which had a stunning selection of vinyl albums and singles. Boy, did I wish I could haul a serious number of these home. Ruth had to drag me out of the store :)

And an area especially for Andr'e.

Ooh-er!
What were the price like there at City Music, Martin?
By the way, I went to see Voice of the Beehive live around 1986 or so and have that album in the foreground!
City Music was much more reasonable than Saturn, Chris. Some CD and vinyl albums were only €10 or so. Almost everything at Saturn was €17 or more.
Quality, Martin... I'd have filled my suitcase with vinyl from City Music! In fact, next time we drive to Germany to visit Del's relatives in Cologne, we'll be popping down to Berlin, and into City Music, and filling the car with vinyl!! :gig:

Approx Distance between Berlin and Cologne is 297 miles or 477.87 KM
"Popping down..."?
Hehehe... Don't I know it, dude! But, as we'll be over there for around 10 days anyway, spending two of them down in Berlin, touring around, wouldn't be a problem! ;)

Well when you have tried driving in the labyrinth that is the ruhr area, then 480 km is nothing.
Hmm actually now that I thing about it... coming from the west, via Belgium, to Cologne isnt that bad. I dare you to do Cologne to Bremen without GPS... nightmare
Ah, but doing it at 150+mph doesn't half get the time down... :)
Actually, that's the fastest speed I've ever driven and the countryside goes past at a hell of a clip.
Hehehe...Indeed! :eyebrows: Although, I can only get 128 MPH (max) out of my old Merc!
The point is, if you can, it's far better to go on holiday with a car, so you can fill it up with all sorts of goodies to bring back home!! :carrot: :carrot:

Flippin' heck. Never knew about City Music. I'll make a point of visiting it next time I'm in Berlin.
I usually go to the shops around Bergmannstrasse in Kreuzberg. Thanks for the tip!
